Guv Marañon to lead Sagay’s Charter day celebration
Outgoing Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon will lead the celebration of the 23rd Charter Anniversary of Sagay City to be held at the Taliambong Activity Center on June 11.
Tomorrow’s celebration will be highlighted by the oath taking of the elected government officials and the awarding of the city’s top five taxpayers.
Marañon, a native of Sagay, will be the guest speaker of the event and will lead the oath to office of the elected city councilors and Vice Mayor-elect Narciso Javelosa Jr.
Regional Trial Court Judge Reginald Fuentebella, on one hand, will administer the oath-taking of Mayor Alfredo Marañon III and second district Representative Leo Rafael Cueva. This will be the third term of Mayor Marañon, Javelosa, and Cueva in their respective offices.
The program will also give service awards to outgoing Sangguniang Panlungsod members Donato Marañon, Jose Frange, and Santiago Bitera, as well as recognize the top five taxpayers (both single proprietor and corporations).
Other activities include Job’s fair, Barbeque Village at the City Plaza, Little Lin-ay sang Sagay, Bicycle Fun Ride, Adlaw sang Suba, Coop Day, Blessing and Inauguration of Market Mall and Tricycle Terminal; Game Fishing Competition at the Old Sagay Port, Thanksgiving Mass, Ratsada sa Charter Day, and the celebration of the 121st Philippine Independence Day on June 12.
