Guv Aris shuts down all stores in Virgin Island after viral P26k lunch
Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado ordered all vendors to vacate Virgin Island so authorities can do a full-blown probe on the reportedly overpriced meals which a store from the area charged to tourists.
He is referring to the viral story of a group of travelers who got billed P26,100 for a humble Pinoy-style meal. Multiple agencies, as well as the local government, are investigating.
“No more structures!!!!,” the politiko announced. “Virgin Island is only for sightseeing as of Wednesday, Aug. 3, after the local government unit of Panglao has prohibited food vendors and other tourism activities.”
Boat trips to and from the island have also been cut off since Wednesday, August 3.
