Gullas to meet school board for resumption of F2F classes
Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony Gullas of Cebu province supports the move of public school teachers to start face-to-face (F2F) classes soon.
He is set to meet the Local School Board on the first week of July to hear their concerns about the schools that were damaged by typhoon Odette and the Covid-19 pandemic, said Gullas.
“The government will repair all of these (schools) using the Special Education Fund (SEF), that’s why I requested the schools division superintendent to invite all the principals (to attend the meeting) so I can ask them what their problems are),” according to him. (https://bit.ly/3bgyrRy)
The city mayor said the Department og Education Talisay City Division has several priority projects before Odette’s onslaught, but the SEF budget for these projects had to be amended for rehabilitation after the schools sustained severe damage from the typhoon.
Meanwhile, the Talisay City Police Station has coordinated with the different school heads about their preparations for the opening of in-person classes.
