Gov’t workers to get 10% pay hike in 2020 – Treñas
Beginning January 2020, government employees will get a 10-percent raise in their salary.
Councilor Jay Treñas, the chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlungsod’s (SP) Committee on Appropriations, said the pay hike is contained in the P2.7-billion 2020 city budget approved last December 3.

“We adjusted the salaries of our employees. The increase is 10 percent across the board so they can function properly,” said Treñas.
Matters not covered by the 2020 budget may be funded via budget supplements, he added.
Of the P2.7 billion, P1,546,449,500 would come from local taxes while the remaining from the city’s Internal Revenue Allotment.
“Most of our departments would also be getting budget increases,” said Treñas.
The Office of the City Mayor has a total appropriation of P712,195,443 — P73,791,486 for personnel services; P590,400,957 for the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses; and P48,003,000 for Capital Outlay.
