Gov’t offers jobs to 1,630 youths in Bacolod
The Bacolod City Public Employment Services Office (PESO) is expected to hire 1,630 poor but deserving students and out-of-school youths under the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) this summer.
PESO chief Ma. Rebecca Balicas said they have distributed application forms to 61 barangays in the city.
Of the total number to be hired, around 1,500 will be employed at the city government from April 15 to 26.
They will receive P3,000 for 15 days of work.
The remaining SPES beneficiaries will work under the Department of Labor and Employment from April 15 to May 8.
The SPES requirements include school records, certificate of indigency, and ID photo.
“The program is really intended to help with the expenses of students for the coming school year,” Balicas said.
