Gov Lacson wants 3-day workweek for doctors
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson of Negros Occidental province hopes doctors at the provincial government hospitals can work three days a week and not two as they are requesting.
“We’re listening to them, but I’m hoping they see it also from my concern,” said Lacson.
According to him, every government employee should render 40 hours per week service (http://www.visayandailystar.com/2019/September/11/topstory9.htm)
“The doctors at the provincial government hospitals are asking to work 24-hour straight shifts for two days and spend the rest of the week in private practice, and I’m really not comfortable with that,” he added.
Lacson proposes that the doctors work three days a week for 12 hours each for two days and 16 hours for one day.
