Gov Lacson highlights importance of having access to health care
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson of Negros Occidental stressed the need to provide access to healthcare.
Lacson made the statement during an event where the provincial government recognized the best performing hospitals and medical facilities in the province. (https://bit.ly/2tE2wEA)
“As a developing country, access to health care, health care facilities, and hospitals have been among the foremost issues besetting our country,” the governor said.
“Medical care is not a trade good and there should be no choice between illness and good health,” he added.
During the event, various medical facilities were recognized in five categories, namely health information, health emergency and disaster management program, non-communicable diseases, communicable diseases and reproductive maternal neonatal child adolescent health, and nutrition cluster.
