Gov. Lacson agrees telcos must improve services
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson welcomed the call of President Rodrigo Duterte for telecommunication companies in the Philippines to improve their services.
Technology and connectivity would be among the controlling and dominant elements under the “new normal,” according to Lacson.
“The Philippines is among the lowest when it comes to mobile and fixed-line internet speed. Fast and reliable internet connection should be the norm rather than an expensive option,” he pointed out. (https://bit.ly/2BKNAsS)
The governor underscored the importance of the Alternative Learning System that includes online learning for the students in the coming school year.
In his Monday’s State of the Nation Address, Duterte urged telcos Smart and Globe to improve their services or face “expropriation.”
They should find ways to infuse more capital if money is the problem, he also said.
