Former WV police officials cited for Boracay rehab
At least three former police officials of Western Visayas, one of them recently retired, received kudos for their efforts in the six-month rehabilitation of Boracay Island.
Police Maj. Gen. Cesar Hawthorne Binag, retired Brig. Gen. John Bulalacao, and Brig. Gen. Jesus Cambay, Jr. received Special Individual Awards for their contributions.
Binag and Bulalacao were former PRO-6 regional directors at the time of Boracay’s rehabilitation.
Cambay, then PRO-6 deputy regional director for administration, was the commander of Metro Boracay Police Task Force (https://dailyguardian.com.ph/ex-pro-6-officials-cited-for-boracay-rehab-efforts/).
Presently, Binag is the director of the Directorate for Information and Communications Technology Management (DICTM) while Cambay is the PNP Secretary of Directorial Staff.
All three received their award during the national celebration of the 118th Police Service Anniversary in Camp Crame. President Rodrigo Duterte headed the event.
Duterte had Boracay closed for six months from April to October 2018 for environmental rehabilitation.
