Five-year corporate plan: DA to empower WV farmers
The Department of Agriculture in Western Visayas has unveiled a five-year corporate plan to improve competitiveness and productivity in the region’s agricultural sector.
DA-6 regional executive director Engr. Remelyn Recoter said this is in line with their slogan “We serve what farmers deserve.”
“We will gear towards collaborations and we will support and adhere to the national government policy directions for the betterment of the agri-fishery sector here in Western Visayas. We aim to uphold our slogan ‘We serve what farmers deserve,’” Recoter said.
She said they had been planning and implementing projects but have not explored how to capacitate their people and improve facilities, assets, and services.
DA Assistant Secretary for Regulations and the Visayas Atty. Hansel Didulo said the corporate plan will serve as a guide for the next five years.
Didulo said the plan will help them “improve governance and organizational effectiveness which translate to more effective and transparent delivery of services, curbed corruption, streamlined processes and sustainable financial system.”
In September 2017, DA Western Visayas organized stakeholders’ forums to plan its moves. It also held a logo design and hymn-making contest.
