Expressway eyed in Panay

One of the top priorities of the Marcos administration is to build an expressway that connects all the provinces in Panay Island, Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. said.

This aligns with the Panay Expressway or the Iloilo-Capiz-Aklan Expressway that he has in mind.

An expressway is a controlled-access highway designed for high-speed vehicular traffic, with all traffic flow regulated. (

“That expressway has been included in the regional plan. It is one of our visions for the province,” said Defensor.

The governor expressed hope that concrete steps will be undertaken to realize the expressway.

“We need an expressway that will connect our airports and seaports, the whole of Panay just like the Luzon Expressway and the North Luzon Expressway,” he added.
