Ex-Carcar councilor kills self

A former Carcar City councilor allegedly shot himself dead in his home in Sitio Oliveros, Barangay Can-asujan at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
Jonathan “Jay” Garcia was brought to a hospital in Carcar where he was declared dead on arrival.
Garcia shot himself in the head with his .9mm Glock pistol, according to Carcar City Police Station chief Ardioleto Cabagnot. (https://t.ly/Ad8-)
Cabagnot said that prior to the incident, the former councilor was celebrating his son’s birthday with his family.
The victim walked out of the living room and into the parking lot to his car.
When their dog kept barking for 30 minutes, the family decided to check what was happening and discovered Garcia lying in his own blood.
Garcia ran for councilor in the 2022 elections but was defeated in his bid for a third consecutive term.
