Edgar Labella laments spike in Cebu City’s COVID cases
Edgar Labella is on a tightening policy mode once more as Cebu City again grapples with rising COVID-19 cases.
The mayor lamented the repeat of the June-July spike in infections in the city, so he’s again getting strict with border control measures to hopefully abate a surge in positive cases.
“After weeks of keeping the numbers low, we are again faced with increased COVID cases,” the politiko said. “I know that many of you share my disappointment but let us not lose heart, let us work even harder to fight this pandemic. The safety of our community depends on us working together.”
Shifting arrangements will also be done for quarantine passes, hopefully to avert another lockdown.
“If there’s one thing that we’ve learned in our months of battling COVID-19, it is how quickly it can spread. We cannot afford to be complacent. We have to act now that the cases are not yet as high as before,” he added.
