Edgar Labella backs out of May 6 debate. Here’s why

It’s not yet over, with the debate reset to a later date.

Vice Mayor Edgar Labella begged off the much-awaited debate against Mayor Tommy Osmeña set on Monday, May 6.

In a letter to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Cebu Chapter, the politiko said he had a “highly important meeting” to attend that day and thus cannot make it.

Osmeña called him out for delaying tactics again, as May 6 was already the second date set for the face-off. The challenge has been moved to May 10, just three days ahead of the polls.

“I apologize to the Cebuanos and to Mr. Osmeña for the short notice. Since you agree, see you on the 10th,” Labella said.
