Duterte signs law converting CHMSC to university

Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC) is now a state university.

President Rodrigo Duterte signed into law Republic Act 11336 converting CHMSC into a state university.

Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya said this will be implemented after the institution complies with the guidelines.

Following its conversion into a state university, CHMSC can now offer more courses.

It will also have a bigger budget and have more facilities and equipment, said Gasataya.

Under the new law, CHMSC in Talisay City and its satellite campuses in Bacolod City and Binalbagan town in Negros Occidental shall be known as the Carlos Hilado Memorial State University.
