DPWH office in Capiz hit for inadequate warning devices on projects

POLITIKO - The bible of Philippine Politics.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Roxas City has requested the Office of the President and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to investigate the DPWH 1st District Engineering of Capiz for possible negligence.

The call was made through a resolution sponsored by City Councilor Pip Acepcion and unanimously approved by all members.

According to the resolution, the district failed to implement security measures in road construction and civil works that led to several accidents and deaths in Roxas City and in some municipalities. (https://bit.ly/3MKcOJy)

A total of 24 road accidents occurred in the city from January to May 2023 because roads undergoing rehabilitation lacked early warning devices, said Acepcion.

The victims blamed the failure to install warning signs and devices on the contractors and the DPWH-1st Capiz District Engineering.
