Displaced tourism workers in Iloilo to get P4,000 aid
Tourism workers displaced by Covid-19 pandemic in Iloilo province will receive financial assistance this week.
“We are about to release our assistance to displaced employees in our tourism industries. We have fixed the assistance. We have a list from municipalities and displaced employees, and we will give assistance to the displaced employees in the tourism industry,” according to Governor Arthur Defensor Jr.
Defensor said around 1,700 listed resort employees will receive P4,000 each from the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged / Displaced Workers. (https://bit.ly/2TnKvYi)
The number of beneficiaries will increase since the listing per municipality is ongoing, he added.
Defensor thanked the DOLE for extending help to the displaced employees in the tourism sector.
