Despite narcopolitiko tag, Jed Mabilog still has mad love for Duterte
Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog harbors no ill will against President Rodrigo Duterte even as the latter directly implicated him in the nefarious drug business along with several other local government officials nationwide.
“Looking at the brighter side, I do not blame the President and I am not angry at him because he has now given me the proper venue to be able to present my side,” Mabilog said in a Facebook post, Thursday (August 11).
Mabilog also thanked Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald ‘Bato’ de la Rosa and Interior Secretary Ismael ‘Mike’ Sueno for treating him kindly when he surrendered to authorities earlier this week to clarify his inclusion in the president’s blacklist of alleged narcopoliticians.
“I thank Gen. Bato de la Rosa and the CIDG (Criminal Investigation and Detection Group) for receiving us well and gave us the time to discuss with them our concerns. I thank Sec Mike Sueno for accommodating us in his office and for also treating us well,” he said.
Now that he’s back in Iloilo City, Mabilog called on his supporters and the rest of his fellow Ilonggos to “trust and believe” the president in his commitment to stamp out crimes and illegal drugs all over the country.
In this light, Mabilog directed all barangay captains and other local officials in his city to keep their eyes peeled on existing drug personalities and spearhead their removal from their respective territories.
“We have the police headed by Col. Remus Canieso and our new PDEA (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency) Director Atty. Gil Pabilona that we can trust. And above all you can be assured of my continued full support on OUR campaign against ILLEGAL DRUGS!” Mabilog said.
