Dengue cases up by over 90% in Bacolod
The number of dengue fever cases in Bacolod City has increased by over 90 percent from last year, the Bacolod City Health Office (CHO) said.
The city has recorded a total of 1,127 dengue-related cases between January 1 and August 10.
Most of the city’s cases have been reported in Barangay Estefania with 131; Barangay Tangub (85), and Barangay Villamonte (76). (https://watchmendailyjournal.com/2019/08/17/bacolod-city-dengue-cases-90/)
CHO said the city also reported a total of six deaths as a result of dengue fever.
In response to this rising number of cases, the Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod approved a P17.8 million appropriations ordinance to fund the CHO’s anti-dengue campaign.
The said budget will be taken from the 2019 Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office quick response fund.
