Degamo tells new troops to respect human rights, rule of law
Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo recently led the ceremonial entrustment of firearms to newly-enlisted soldiers.
The 254 neophyte soldiers, who just completed the three-month Candidate Soldier Course and Jungle Warfare Mountain Operation Course, will soon be deployed to Western and Central Visayas.
“The firearms entrusted to you, and your certificate of completion are commissioned to bring effective service to our country. Don’t use them in doing abusive acts and in harming your people,” said Degamo. (https://bit.ly/2r3hrqM)
The governor told the new soldiers to always respect human rights and the rule of law as well as the lawful orders of their commanders and leaders.
They should also be loyal to their loved ones and family, and keep their faith in God intact in all of their future engagements, he added.
