Defensor won’t appeal Iloilo shift to MECQ
Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. said he will no longer appeal to the government’s Covid-19 task force to downgrade the province’s quarantine classification after it has been placed under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) until June 30.
It was no surprise, according to Defensor.
The province is logging an average of 125 Covid-19 cases daily for the past 14 days. (https://bit.ly/3xj7fHk)
“We welcome this 100 percent,” the governor added.
He also urged Ilonggos to welcome Iloilo’s MECQ shift because “this was what the province needs.”
As of Monday, Iloilo recorded 9,747 total confirmed infections, of which 2,420 were active cases, 7,092 recoveries and 235 deaths.
