Defensor, Tupas landslide winners in Panay News survey
Will this prevail come May 13?
Local paper Panay News conducted a survey in Iloilo from March 7 to May 1 to get the pulse on the upcoming elections.
The results are quite telling. According to the poll, the tandem of Toto Defensor and Niel Tupas III will win by landslide as governor and vice-governor, cornering 73.1 percent and 72.1 percent of votes, respectively.
Ferj Biron trails at 25.8 percent while running mate Tingting Garin got 27.9 percent.
For the first district, it’s a toss between Gerardo Flores (48.8 percent) versus ex-Health Secretary Janette Garin (44.2 percent). In the second district, Mike Gorriceta got 57.5 percent while Dennis Superficial got 40 percent.
Nonoy Defensor wony by landslide in the third district at 97.4 percent of votes. Marven Daquilanea also got the advantage versus BJ Biron in the fourth district with a 61.5-38.5 percent split.
Meanwhile, it’s a tie between brothers Boboy and Junjun Tupas as representative of the fifth district, logging 49 percent each.
