The Iloilo Provincial Government has allocated P5 million to repair the hanging bridge in Barangay Moroboro, Dingle.

Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. turned over the check to Remy Devera of the Dingle Municipal Treasurer’s Office on September 28.

Defensor said that he tried to find ways to include the hanging bridge in this year’s budget because it has long been a source of concern for local residents. (

The governor delegated the bidding process and project design of the hanging bridge repair to the Dingle local government.

Residents of Barangays San Matias, Lico-an, and Poblacion, among others, will benefit once the project is completed.

In order to protect the bridge, the Defensor is also considering prohibiting motorcycles and other types of vehicles from using it.
