Defeated NegOcc mayoral bet files poll protest
La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan of Negros Occidental said defeated mayoralty candidate Felix “Chad” Feria IV has the right to file a recount protest.
The Daily Guardian reported that Mangilimutan received information on Feria’s election protest filed with the court last Friday.
In his petition for recount, Feria alleged that the conduct of midterm elections was allegedly marred with fraud, terrorism, and illegal acts.
Mangilimutan was proclaimed the as the duly elected mayor La Castellana town with 17,822 votes. Feria, on one hand, had 13,987 votes.
Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor and Moises Padilla Magdaleno Peña also filed election protest against their rivals in the last elections.
