Councilor Tumulak urges public to save water amid El Niño
Cebu City Councilor David Tumulak urged residents to conserve water as the country experiences drought conditions.
Tumulak advised everyone to store water for use during prolonged dry spells.
According to the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD), Barangays Banawa and Sambag II, and along B. Rodriguez Street have little or no water.
Water in Barangays Opra, Capitol Site and Camputhaw, on one hand, runs for only one hour a day.
“We really need to save water at this time,” said Tumulak in a Cebu Daily News article.
Cebu City was placed under state of calamity due to the effects of the El Niño phenomenon last April 12.
“The declaration of state of calamity in the city was delayed because we are asking the MCWD to submit to us the list of barangays affected, especially the time from low water to no water,” the politiko added.
