Council OKs endorsement of Panay-Guimaras-Negros bridges study
The Negros Occidental Provincial Development Council has approved a resolution endorsing the conduct of a feasibility study on the proposed Panay-Guimaras-Negros (PGN) bridge project.
Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson recently led its second-quarter meeting at the provincial capitol’s Social Hall.
Engineer Severo Ruiz, officer-in-charge of the Plans and Designs Division of the Department of Public Works and Highways-6 said the PGN project is undergoing feasibility study by CCC Highway Consultants Co., Ltd., which started in November last year.
The study will be completed by January 2020, said Ruiz.
According to him, the project aims to connect the major islands of Panay, Guimaras, and Negros. The two proposed bridges to be constructed are Panay-Guimaras Bridge and Guimaras-Negros Island Bridge.
