The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) has asked Bacolod City Police Director Col. Noel Calderon Aliño to step up the city’s campaign against theft and robbery of electronic and telecommunications cable.

The resolution authored by Councilor Claudio Puentevella cited several incidents involving theft of electronic and telecommunication wires and cables committed during the wee hours of the morning. (https://bit.ly/42n13xC)

The theft and robbery of wires and cables has caused inconvenience on the part of telecommunication consumers and damage to consumers and service providers, it said.

The resolution also said this can potentially cause service disruptions, impede city productivity, and even put people at risk of electrocution.
