City SEAG medalists to receive cash incentives – Labella
Mayor Edgardo Labella said city athletes who win medals at the 30th Southeast Asian Games will receive cash incentives from the Cebu City government.
“This is a huge honor they are giving us,” said Labella.
The mayor said the provision of monetary incentives is in accordance with a city ordinance that those who give honor to the city through athletics and other fields should be given an award or incentive by way of cash. (https://bit.ly/2YciaSJ)
The amount of cash incentives has yet to be announced.
Labella congratulated dancesport pair of Wilbert Aunzo and Pearl Marie Cañeda, who won three gold medals for all Latin dances, including Chachacha, Samba, and Rhumba, on Sunday night.
“As Cebuanos, we are very proud that our dancesport contestants swept the dancesport competition,” he said.
Another city athlete, Dexler Bolambao, gave the country its first gold in arnis.
