City gov’t employees to get P15K in CNA, PEI bonuses
Each regular employee of the Iloilo City Government will receive P15,000 in Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) and Performance Enhancement Incentives (PEI) bonus.
This was announced by City Administrator Atty. Hernando Galvez during Monday’s flag raising ceremony.
The amount is lower than the expected cash incentive of P25,000 based on the guidelines the Department of Budget and Management earlier released.
“It is unfortunate, the budget and the consultative committee cannot give your P25,000. All in all you will be all receiving P15,000 each,” Galvez said in The Daily Guardian report.
As early as November 2018, Mayor Jose Espinosa III ordered the consultative and the finance committees to grant each regular employee the maximum amount of P25,000 for their CNA and PEI bonuses.
“Since last week, the city government together with the mayor has been maximizing the resources to achieve the maximum P25,000 for the qualified employees,” the official said.
“The mayor even directed the release of CNA as early as November. Last week, we were happy that the City Budget Office informed us that an available amount of P18,000 will be given to you, but the City Treasurer’s Office has been citing certain basis and they only allowed P10,000 each,” he added.
Galvez said that Espinosa would explore possible legal action.
