Charge your phones at CHR-7, Rama tells ‘power’ less residents
Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama has ordered the closure of the charging station at City Hall after the Commission on Human Rights (CHR-7) said that the “no vaccination, no charging” rule might be illegal.
“Those who want to have their cellphones charged, let them go to the Human Rights Office. I am serious!” Rama said in a press conference Friday.
The commission, he added, is not aware of the situation on the ground. (https://bit.ly/3AlxPm0)
“Perhaps they are not aware of the situation when charging. It’s invasive. Are you not watching it? Sometimes, they open their mouths, they do not know what they are seeing,” according to the mayor.
The city government earlier opened the charging station for residents who still do not have electricity at home due to Typhoon Odette.
