The Cebu City Police Office encouraged former Pinamungajan mayor Geraldine Yapha to hire private security personnel following threats to her life.
Yapha is running for congresswoman in the province’s third district.
Police Senior Superintendent Royina Garma, director of CCPO, said in The Freeman report that they will assess the threat.

“I advised her to report all threats that she receives and we will investigate. I advised her to avail the services of a private security agency,” added Garma.
According to her, politicians may employ the services of only two uniformed security escorts for the May midterm elections.
Yapha earlier reported to the Cebu Provincial Police Office that her driver, Rex Zamora found a piece of paper enclosed with two live bullets in her vehicle.
Written in the paper was: “Withdraw or due, two bullets- one for you and one for driver.”
