Cebu to improve anti-disaster preparations in 2018; Dapat mas listo
In 2018, Cebu’s local government units should be better prepared in disaster management, after the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office held a yearend planning workshop for them.
Forty out of 51 local disaster risk reduction and management units took part in the three-day yearend action planning and teambuilding held Dec. 6 to 8 at the Alta Cebu Resort.
PDRRMO head Baltazar Tribulano, Jr. stressed the need for such training activities so LGUs can sharpen their disaster-response skills.
He reminded local disaster management units they are the first responders during disasters.
Tribunalo added the provincial government will do its part to help local disaster risk reduction and management offices sustain their good performances.
He added that out of the P4.5-billion provincial government’s budget for 2018, P181 million will boost the plans and projects of the PDRRMO.
