Cebu City Health to stop coronavirus cases report
The Cebu City Health Department (CHD) will no longer post on its official Facebook page updates on the coronavirus (Covid-19) cases.
“Upon recommendation by the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases) during the meeting earlier, we will no longer be posting daily reports on our page for the Cebu City Covid-19 monitoring,” read the CHD’s post.
This was recommended by IATF to avoid confusion with the public, it added. (https://bit.ly/2Z9hNLb)
To recall, Secretary Roy Cimatu, overseer of Covid-19 response in Cebu City, has urged the barangays, CHD, and the Department of Health (DOH)-7 to reconcile their data to avoid conflict, as well as to have a clearer picture of the situation for better responses moving forward, particularly in contact tracing, isolation, and treatment of patients.
For the Covid-19 monitoring daily report, the public is urged to refer to the DOH-7 official Facebook page.
“The data we post each day are actual cases validated by our contact tracing teams but to avoid causing confusion to the public and to harmonize the data being presented, we urge the public to refer to the DOH-7 official Facebook page instead,” the CHD said.
