Cebu City Council eyes patrol vehicles for cops
The Cebu City Council wants to provide patrol vehicles to the city’s police officials.
The city council, in a resolution, urged Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña to allocate patrol vehicles for police chief Joel Doria and other officials.
It cited the expected influx of tourists in the Queen City of the South following the closure of Boracay.
The city council said the patrol vehicles will help the police ensure public safety.
“Following the six-month closure of Boracay from any tourist activities, there is an expected increase and influx in the number of tourist in the City of Cebu. There has been a limited resource of service patrol in the police office making it imperative for the city to allocate such vehicles in order to provide timely response to ensure the security and safety of our constituents,” stated the resolution.
