Cebu authorities offer tempting bounty vs Lapu-lapu teen’s murderers

The Cebu provincial government is offering an additional P200,000 as bounty for those behind the brutal murder of a Lapu-Lapu City teenager Christine Silawan.

Also, the provincial government is offering P50,000 in cash assistance for the family of the slain victim, Vice Governor Agnes Magpale said.

Magpale lamented the gruesome killing of the girl “happened during the celebration of the Women’s Month.”.

Silawan was found dead and half-naked, her face skinned. Her body bore at least 30 stab wounds.

Magpale said the Capitol will coordinate with the Philippine National Police, as well as the partners of the Provincial Council for Women and Children, the International Justice Mission and the civil society, on what help it can extend so the killers can be brought to justice.

“It’s incumbent upon the provincial government to be there in keeping Cebu safe for everybody. When we talk about Cebu, we talk about the whole island,” she added.
