Carcar City hospital extended to accommodate more patients
The Carcar City Provincial Hospital will soon be able to accommodate 100 more patients.
Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III and Vice Governor Agnes Magpale on Wednesday led the groundbreaking of the hospital’s six-storey extension building.
At present, the hospital caters to only 250 patients.
The P111.5-million extension building will be completed with 370 days.
In a Cebu Daily News article, Provincial Health Office head Dr. Rene Catan said the facility is made in preparation for the expected surge of patients in government hospitals when the proposed Universal Health Care law will be implemented.
“Carcar City Provincial Hospital is a very strategic hospital because it could cater patients from the South,” Catan said.
