Cadiz downgrade to Alert Level 1 makes mayor anxious
Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante of Negros Occidental said he was happy but also also anxious that his city downgraded to Alert Level 1 until June 30.
The shift to the lowest alert level is an acknowledgement of all of their hard work and the growing number of vaccinated residents, according to Escalante.
But, the city mayor said he’s worried, too, that the lifting of some restrictions would lead to a spike in Covid-19 cases. (https://bit.ly/3xExeuS)
He is particularly concerned of social gatherings as puroks in the city could now hold fiestas, he added.
Aside from Cadiz City, the other areas placed under Alert Level 1 by the pandemic task force in Negros Occidental are the cities of Sagay, Victorias, La Carlota and the towns of Candoni, Pontevedra, Pulupandan, and San Enrique.
