BP Biron tightens rules in Barotac Nuevo’s fish port

This area could turn out to be a new COVID-19 hotspot.

Mayor BP Biron discovered a new scheme which could potentially lead to new coronavirus cases in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo. He learned that fish brokers who used to man the Iloilo Fishing Port may be potential carriers and asked residents who transact with them to get themselves checked by the rural health unit.

“I received reports in the evening of August 6 that there are numerous persons going to our pala pala in Brgy. Tabuc Suba, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo because of the lockdown of Iloilo Fishing Port in the city. Physical social distancing was not followed and some were not wearing face masks.,” the politiko said.

“The cases in Iloilo Fishing Port are super spreader so I enjoin everyone to please cooperate and never disregard our minimum health standards,” he added.
