Boracay not on lockdown over coronavirus: Malay LGU
The Malay local government unit (LGU) denied an online report that Boracay Island is on lockdown.
This, after a news article claimed that the island is under lockdown after “a doctor and two senior citizens” tested positive for coronavirus in Boracay.
The town clarified that the hospital in the island Ciriaco H. Tirol Hospital, not Boracay District Hospital. (https://bit.ly/3bB72V2)
Its acting municipal mayor is Frolibar S. Bautista, not Dinky Romano, the Malay LGU also noted.
As of Saturday, the Department of Health-Center for Health Development 6 reported that Western Visayas has 16 confirmed cases.
The three positive cases in Aklan were reported on March 27. Only one patient was from Malay. The other two confirmed cases were from the municipalities of Libacao and Kalibo.
