BM Bascon running for mayor of Himamaylan
Negros Occidental Board Member Ernesto Agustin Bascon is running for mayor of Himamaylan City.
Bascon will challenge incumbent Mayor Raymond Tongson in next year’s mayoral race.
He said he had asked permission from Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, as a form of respect to the two top officials of the province. (https://bit.ly/2VxsHeq)
“They were okay with it,” Bascon said in the vernacular.
Bascon is a member of Love Negros, where Lacson belongs, while Tongson is affiliated with United Negros Alliance where Ferrer served as the political party president.
Bascon did not name his running mate for the vice mayoralty position of Himamaylan City.
