Bing Leonardia runs to lawyers in tightening Bacolod’s COVID-19 response

Lawyers are now frontliners in Bacolod City’s coronavirus battle.

Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia is lawyering up as he goes even stricter in the city’s COVID-19 response. He wanted to crack down on residents providing false or beautified data on case investigation forms of patients as well as on confirmed patients who refuse to be isolated in quarantine facilities.

He and city task force director Em Ang were furious, as resistance made it more challenging to combat the virus and flatten the curve.

Lucky him, the Negros chapter of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines was on board, telling him that any of their lawyers can be consulted on what to do if patients do not cooperate.
