Bing Leonardia reveals why he skipped watching Pacquiao’s match live
He’s been by the boxer’s side in previous bouts, so it came as a surprise when he didn’t fly to Las Vegas last weekend.
Bacolod Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia would not dare miss watching boxing champ turned Senator Manny Pacquiao’s matches live, until this July. The mayor stayed in the country despite Pacquiao’s bout against American boxer Keith Thurman, meaning there’s one lucky charm missing in the senator’s lineup.
It was apparently a worthy sacrifice, as Leonardia stayed on to get elected as national president of the esteemed League of Cities of the Philippines.
Leonardia instead settled for a live viewing in Makati City that Sunday, where he saw Pacquiao earn a new belt after his victory via split decision.
