Bing Leonardia finally requires face shields in Bacolod
Bacolod City has required residents to wear face shields while out in public.
Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia has joined Metro Manila in requiring people to wear extra protection when outdoors, on top of face masks.
The new rule has taken effect on November 7, following the approval of the city ordinance and the signing by the mayor.
The face shield must be worn when outside, when aboard a public or private vehcle, and while at work or in an enclosed space.
“Any person who fails to wear properly the required face mask and face shield, or observe the mandated social distancing, as defined under this ordinance, shall be penalized with a fine of P200 or eight hours of community service for every violation,” the ordinance read.
