It’s a momentous occasion for the city.

It may still be January, but gigantic and colorful masks dotted this part of Bacolod to welcome big-time guests who flew in from Manila.

Officials from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) were greeted by an early MassKara festival set-up as they staged the groundbreaking ceremony for the BSP’s new branch in Bacolod City. Mayor Evelio Leonardia welcomed the VIPs and led the event alongside them.
