Bawal ‘yan! Raymond Mendoza slams businesses who didn’t let workers flee during quake
Employers have no right to do this.
Labor leader Raymond Democrito Mendoza was quick to issue a condemnation after learning that some companies and establishments refused to let their workers evacuate after a magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck Luzon on Monday afternoon.
The TUCP Representative said it was inhumane.
“This company practice or policy is a form of abuse and it must be condemned because it imperils the lives of their employees and jeopardizes the safety and health of workers,” Mendoza said.
“Workers now have the right to refuse to work in an unsafe workplace.”
Will heads roll over this mess?
