Bawal ang pasaway! Villars’ Boracay Sands missing in DOT’s list of accredited hotels for October 26 reopening
Vista Land and Lifescapes, the real estate company owned by the family of Senator Cynthia Villar, appears to be moving at a snail’s pace in ensuring Boracay Sands Hotel is compliant with environmental laws.
Six months since Boracay was closed down to the public, Boracay Sands has yet to correct all of the violations identified by authorities.
Proof that the Villar-owned hotel is not yet fully compliant with laws was its absence from the Department of Tourism’s list of accommodation establishments in Boracay.
DOT released the list Friday (October 12) ahead of the island’s re-opening on October 26.
A total of 68 hotels and resorts all over the island obtained accreditation from the DOT to operate and accept bookings after the island is opened again to the public.
