Barato na, tinlo pa! Treñas mulls clean energy transition
Iloilo City is eyeing transition to the more sustainable use of renewable solar energy.
According to Mayor Jerry Treñas, the City Engineer’s Office has started installing the solar lights at the Iloilo Esplanade replacing the old street lights.
The city government has purchased around 200 solar lights to be installed around the metro particularly in public places, plazas and subdivision, said Treñas. (https://bit.ly/2LRYpOx)
The mayor also said he envisions the city to transition and use the renewable solar energy which will cut the city’s expenses and provide ease and comfort to the Ilonggos.
“It will mean fewer expenses for us. At the same time, reduce our fossil fuel reliance,” he added.
