Bando Osmeña bares five bets for senator
Cebu-based Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK) is endorsing five senatorial candidates for the May midterm polls, Cebu Daily News reported.
They are Senators Grace Poe, Cynthia Villar, and Juan Edgardo Angara; former senator Sergio “Serge” Osmeña III; and former presidential aide Christopher “Bong” Go.
The Senate aspirants, except for Go, attended the BO-PK proclamation rally at the Cebu City Sports Complex on Saturday.
Osmeña expressed confidence that his fellow Cebuanos would return him to the Senate. “What more can I say, I am proven and tested by the Filipinos and especially the Cebuanos,” he added.
Poe vowed she would push for more infrastructure projects for the city once reelected.
Villar said she would prioritize livelihood programs in relation to garbage recycling, farming, and fisheries if she’s given a fresh mandate.
If reelected, Angara said he would support the establishment of a better mass transportation for Cebu to respond to the transport needs of Cebuanos living and working in Cebu City.
BOPK is a local party led by reelectionist Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña.
