Baka mag-operate sa politika! WV cops in alert vs 5 criminal groups

Police in Western Visayas are keeping a close watch on at least five criminal syndicates that may ramp up their activity as the 2019 polls draw closer.

Western Visayas police head Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao did not give details on where these groups are operating.

“Their number could increase as election nears,” he said (

He said these groups different from the five private armed groups which they are also monitoring.

Bulalacao said these crime groups could be behind recent killings, including those by motorcycle-riding gunmen.

Killings by motorcycle-riding men remain a challenge even as other crimes have gone down, he added.

For now, he said they are collecting information against these criminal syndicates.
