Bacolod vice mayor denies conflict over committee chairmanships

Re-eelcted Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran has denied the alleged friction among the newly elected and re-elected councilors of Bacolod City under the Grupo Progreso (GP).

“I have no idea about the issue between them,” said Familiaran.

The councilors reportedly squabbled over committee chairmanships at the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

A total of 11 GP bets for the city council members won in the recent May midterm polls.

Familiaran said he is scheduled to meet the 13 councilors on June 29 to assign committee assignments.

“I’m planning to invite them, if all of them are available to discuss our inaugural session and committee assignments,” according to him.
